About Hotel Rive
Hotel Rive is a large complex that is located at the bottom of the slopes. It is only 50 metres from the ski school meeting point and the nearest lifts. The local bus stop is also 50 metres from the hotel. The town centre is a 10- minute walk. The complex comprises of a hotel and an apartment block next door. Guests have access to the extensive facilities including a brand-new wellness centre.
Bardonecchia is in a sunny valley on the French border. It is a traditional market town with a lot of character and a mixture of bars, shops and restaurants. The weekends can be quite busy when lots of locals arrive for a weekends skiing. There are numerous activities for non- skiers in the resort centre with a swimming pool, ice skating rink and a cinema. Guests can even take the train and have a day in Turin.
Bardonecchia consists of three main skiing areas, connected by ski lifts and chairlifts, providing a ski area with 140kms of pisted skiing. Beginners on their first ski holiday will find plenty of nursery slopes in Melezet and Campo Smith. After mastering the basics, they can move on to the long blue runs at Colomion. Here, intermediates can enjoy the mixture of blue and red runs as well as off piste skiing with a guide.
For experts, there are a further 6 black runs to challenge their skills. Bardonecchia hosted some of the events in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and has become a popular ski destination for winter holidaymakers.
