About Hotel Falken
Hotel Falken is a charming hotel which has been in the Cova family for over 100 years and is one of the original hotels of Wengen. Located just 5 minutes’ walk above the village centre and close to the cable car and railway station, the Hotel Falken is in a quiet location with fantastic views of the valley and mountains.
If the conditions are fine then you are able to ski back to the hotel doors, very appealing to skiers. Most evenings you can relax with a drink listening to the pianist playing or relax in the cosy bar. Meals are served in the dining room and there is a terrace to sit on and admire the views. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and there is a TV and reading room to relax in.
The small Alpine village of Wengen is virtually traffic free and is an ideal location for family holidays. Together with its neighbour Grindelwald, it is part of the Jungfrau ski area which has 213 kms of pistes mainly suitable for beginners and confident intermediates.
Nursery slopes for beginners are mainly based around the resort and there are plenty of them. Take the train from Wengen through the heart of the Eiger to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site of Jungfrauoch and take in the breathtaking views. Progressing from beginner to intermediate can be quick due to the excellent English speaking ski schools.
The blue slopes just above Grindelwald are long and wide and are ideal for progressing intermediates. Experts can experience the famous World Cup Downhill course at Lauberhorn, and ski in the shoes of Franz Klammer. For a great adrenalin rush, why not try the Black Rock run which starts at the base of the Eiger.
Ski Accommodation
Hotel Falken has a total of 44 rooms.
All the rooms are traditionally furnished and have a bath or shower and WC as well as a telephone and a radio.
There are some twin rooms that just have a washbasin, these are budget friendly rooms and have a shower and WC in the corridor.
All rooms have radio and telephone and superb views of the mountains.
Meals
Half board basis is available to all guests staying at Hotel Falken.
A good hearty buffet breakfast is offered to guests each morning.
Dinner is an excellent 4-course evening meal with a selection of starters, mains and desserts.
Christmas and New Year gala dinners are included.
