About Hotel Alpenrose
Hotel Alpenrose is within a 10-minute walk of the resort centre. The slopes, ski lift and ski school are all only 500 metres away, and the hotel offers guests a free shuttle service to the train which will take you to the skiing area. Hotel Alpenrose is a family run hotel that offers a friendly atmosphere and comfortable lounge with a warm log fire.
The hotel sleeps up to 100 guests in nicely furnished rooms some of which have been refurbished and offer views over the mountains. There is a cosy rustic bar to enjoy a drink with friends and a relaxing dining area for meals. Throughout the hotel there is complimentary Wi-Fi access.
Wengen is one of three resorts that are in the Jungfrau region. It is on a sloping shelf above the Lauterbrunnen valley, opposite Murren, and is reached by a cog railway. The ski area is more suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. There are lots of long, gentle runs for intermediates, and nursery slopes in the heart of the village.
This is a good resort for families and getting around is easy on the mountain railways. The views across the valley are fantastic, and the higher you go, they get even better, when the trio of peaks come into full view. The Monch in the middle, the Jungfrau on the right and the mighty Eiger on the left.
Ski Accommodation
Hotel Alpenrose has 50 comfortable rooms in total.
All the twin rooms have a bath and WC as well as a hairdryer, telephone, cable TV and a radio.
Some of the rooms have been renovated and are south facing twins. These also have a balcony with views of the mountains, and can take a third bed suitable for a child up to 11 years.
Singles rooms with a bath or shower are available on request.
Meals
Half board is available to guests staying at Hotel Alpenrose.
An excellent buffet breakfast is offered to guests each morning with a choice of hot and cold dishes.
A delicious 5 course evening meal is served every evening with a selection of starters, mains and desserts to choose from..
Each week there is a special Farmer’s buffet.
Christmas and New Year gala dinners are included.
