About Yllas Log Cabins
Yllas Log Cabins are set amongst woodland in a variety of locations around the village of Yllas. Cross country ski trails start from the doorstep and the ski bus stop is within walking distance. A large supermarket, and a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants can be found a short distance away.
The cabins are self-catering, but guests have the option of half board with meals taken at the nearby Akas Hotel. For an additional charge, guests can use the indoor pool at the hotel. All cabins have a sauna and a fireplace with wood provided.
Lapland is the most northern part of Finland. Yllas is one of the largest ski resorts in Finland with an amazing 63 slopes and 29 lifts. It is the perfect resort to learn to ski or snowboard, with its quiet slopes and small ski school classes and a large selection of beginner slopes. There are 53 km of trails, including the longest slope in Finland at 3 km. 330 km of scenic trails make it a majestic winter wonderland. There are also 4 snow-parks in the area with jumps and rails suitable for beginners and experts.
For non-skiers, there are numerous activities to be had including husky or reindeer tours, ice-fishing, reindeer safari and Sami reindeer farm visits, snow-mobile safari, Northern Lights tour and of course, no winter holiday in Finland would be complete without a visit to see Santa and his elves in a magical forest grotto.
Ski Accommodation
Cabins sleep up to 8 guests and each one includes a sauna, WC, shower, fireplace, TV, DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen with a full oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, iron, drying closet and washing machine. Cabins are 1,2,3 and 4 rooms with twin bedrooms, a living area and extra beds on a mezzanine level.
Meals
The cabins offer guests self catering facilities and an option to upgrade to half board with meals taken at the nearby restaurant.
