About Hotel Monte Sella
The Cristofolini family have run the beautiful Hotel Monte Sella for decades and provide a homely atmosphere for their guests. The hotel has authentic South Tyrolean charm and guests can enjoy the great hospitality offered by the family. Hotel Monte Sella sleeps up to 80 guests in tastefully decorated rooms.
Hotel Monte Sella is located just 200 metres from the Skitrans Bronta gondola and the centre of San Viglilio. The hotel boasts among other things, a wellness centre with indoor pool, with panoramic views of the mountains, sauna, steam room, whirlpool and Kneipp bath. There are cosy lounges and bars to relax in after a day on the slopes and weekly live music is played after dinner.
Kronplatz is the name given to the main mountain in this area of the Dolomites. It is a conical shape and very smooth, a vast difference from the other more rugged mountains. The ski area has 116 kms of pistes, and is more suited to beginners and intermediates. Take the piste on the south side of the mountain and after a 7 km run you will find yourself in San Vigilio. Between the village and neighbouring Piculin are 7 pistes, 2 of which are black runs for the experts.
Après-ski in the centre is quiet compared to other resorts, but there is a selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

When it comes to Italian ski resorts, the area of Kronplatz is something of a hidden gem when it comes to British visitors.
Although popular with other nationalities, the large dome-shaped mountain known as Plan de Corones isn’t somewhere that is well known to ski enthusiasts – but that could all change if you decide to pay a visit.
