Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse has always been a hidden gem on the Canadian ski scene, previously served by just a single lift.

Now, six different lifts provide easy access to a wide open ski area that is famed for high annual snowfall, with the powder snow being suitable for all amidst the stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies.

Kicking Horse is very much a skiers resort with the upper mountain packed with countless black and an unprecedented 60 double black diamond runs, whilst the resort itself is home to a range of hotels and condos that provide an old-town feel.

Ski-in/ski-out accommodation is available, whilst there is a small range of shops, bars and restaurants - with more available in nearby Golden.

The upper slopes were previously only accessed for heli-skiing so there is plenty of opportunity to head off piste and explore

Children can take to the nursery slopes around the resort to learn the ropes before trying anything more challenging, with all hotels offering easy access to the snow

Despite being a relatively new and relatively small resort, Kicking Horse has a thriving apres-ski scene with a range of bars and restaurants and the opportunity to sit back with a drink whilst listening to live music.
